When to go to Abu Dhabi and Saadiyat

The best time to visit Abu Dhabi and Saadiyat Island is November to March, when days are warm rather than hot and you can spend them outdoors, on the beach or walking between museums. The catch is that this is also the busiest and most expensive season. To see what the Abu Dhabi season is like right now, check the live weather on Saadiyat below, then compare months in the table.

When to go

November to March: high season. Days reach 24–30°C (75–86°F) and nights are mild. The sea ranges between 21–27°C (70–81°F) over the season and is coolest in January and February, when it feels fresh rather than warm. Rain falls on 1–2 days a month. This is when the beach, the museums and the city all work at once, and when hotels charge the most, especially in early December and over Christmas and New Year.

April and October: shoulder season. Afternoons are hot, around 34°C (93°F) in April and 36°C (97°F) in October, but mornings and evenings are fine for the beach. The sea is warm, about 26°C (79°F) in April and 30°C (86°F) in October. Hotels cost less than in winter.

May to September: summer. Days reach 39–44°C (102–111°F), nights stay hot and humid, and the sea warms to 29–34°C (84–93°F). Few tourists come, and hotels and apartments cost less than in winter. Plan to swim early or late and spend the middle of the day in museums and malls.
