Abu Dhabi and Saadiyat in March

March is the last mild month before the heat. In 2027 it opens with the end of Ramadan and the Eid Al Fitr holiday, and the main Abu Dhabi events in March follow that calendar and the close of the winter festival season.

  • Daytime air 29°C (84°F)
  • Sea 23°C (73°F)
  • Rainy days: 1
  • Crowds: Medium
Peak season

Is March a good time to go?

Yes. Days are warm, the sea is warming up, and the turtle nesting season begins on Saadiyat's beaches. Late March is a good compromise: still comfortable, past Ramadan and Eid, and a little cheaper than mid-winter.

What to do

  • Beach days. Days reach 29°C (84°F) and the sea is about 23°C (73°F), comfortable for a full day on the sand.
  • Eid Al Fitr. Ramadan is expected to end in early March 2027, and Eid Al Fitr is expected on 9 or 10 March 2027, depending on the moon. It is a public holiday of several days across the UAE.
  • Turtle season. Hawksbill turtles start nesting on Saadiyat's beaches in March; the season lasts until July. Nests are marked and signposted, so keep clear of them and stay off the dunes.
  • Last weeks of the Sheikh Zayed Festival. The festival at Al Wathba closes on 14 March 2027.

Prices and crowds

The first half of March is still high season, with prices close to winter levels. From mid-month, crowds thin and hotel prices begin to ease toward April and May, which Visit Abu Dhabi names as slightly cheaper months.
