Abu Dhabi and Saadiyat in June

June is the start of the real summer: hot and humid from morning to night, with the beaches nearly empty. Abu Dhabi events in June are few, and most of what's on happens indoors.

Is June a good time to go?

Only if heat doesn't put you off. June has none of the milder spells of April and May: the heat lasts all day. If your plan is a resort pool, a warm sea at dawn and dusk, and air-conditioned museums in between, the lower prices make it worth it.

What to do

  • Swim at either end of the day. The sea is about 32°C (90°F), warm at any hour, but the sun on the sand is hard to bear from late morning to late afternoon.
  • Make the museums your main plan. The Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum, the Natural History Museum and teamLab Phenomena can fill several days, all indoors and close together. The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will add a fifth if its opening, planned for 11 December 2026, goes ahead.
  • Use the hotel. A resort with shaded pools and a spa is more useful in June than a list of outdoor sights.
  • Late turtle season. Hawksbill turtles still nest on Saadiyat in June, though the peak has passed.

Prices and crowds

June is low season. There are few tourists on the island, and hotels and apartments cost less than in winter. Beaches and museums are quiet; the main cost is the heat.
