Abu Dhabi and Saadiyat in September

Abu Dhabi in September is still summer, but the end is in sight. The first weeks feel like August; by the last week, evenings are easier and the first visitors of the season start to arrive.

Is September a good time to go?

Late September, yes; early September, only for heat-tolerant travelers on a budget. The sea stays very warm all month, prices are still at low-season levels, and the heat eases a little toward October. If you can move your trip by a few weeks, October is noticeably more comfortable.

What to do

  • Swim morning and evening. The sea is about 33°C (91°F), close to its August peak.
  • Museums before the season starts. The Cultural District museums are still quiet in September.
  • Evening walks on the Mamsha promenade, more pleasant in the second half of the month
  • Plan ahead for winter. If you're also thinking about a winter trip, compare prices for December and New Year early: the week of UAE National Day and the Grand Prix and the holiday weeks are the busiest of the year.

Prices and crowds

September is still low season, with prices below winter levels and few tourists. Demand starts to pick up as October approaches.
